Gerald J. "Jerry" Nelson's Obituary
Nelson, Gerald James passed away on January 22, 2020. Jerry was born in Flint, Michigan on November 23, 1949 to William and Maxine Nelson who both preceded him in death. Jerry always wanted everyone to call him by his nickname, Crowbar! Jerry was an outstanding wrestler at Mona Shores high school. He worked at Sealed Power. Jerry was a local boxer who trained with Kenny Lane and Jack Crowell in his younger years. A special thanks to Jack Crowell for being such a loyal friend to Jerry to this day. He had many personal and medical issues, but he always had a big heart. Jerry leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews. In accordance to the family’s wishes, Gerald has been cremated and there are no services at this time. Arrangements entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E.
