Gerald Lee "Jerry" Olman's Obituary
Mr. Gerald Lee “Jerry” Olman, age 85, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at his home in Laketon Township, Michigan. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on November 11, 1939 to Henry and Myrtle (Malcuit) Olman. Jerry was employed by Johnson Technology prior to his retirement in 2006. He had previously been employed at Michigan Spring and had owned his own company, Muskegon Computer. On November 19, 1960, Jerry married the former Ruth Ann “Sue” Johnson in Muskegon. Together they enjoyed visiting car shows with their 1929 Ford Model A and Ford Thunderbird, Sunday afternoon drives, traveling, antique shopping, and spontaneous adventures. He also enjoyed deer hunting, was a HAM radio enthusiast, and enjoyed researching, learning, and was proud of his Native American heritage. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ruth “Sue”, just three weeks ago on June 21, 2025. It was the longest Jerry had been away from Susie in 64 years, and they are now once again reunited. He was also preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Billy Neumann; and brother, Clifford “Sonny” Olman. He is survived by his children, Lori (Bill) Neumann, Kristi (Gary) Pothoff, and Jerry (Merri Jo) Olman II; three grandchildren, Zach (Joslin) Neumann, Derek (Lauren) Pothoff, and Matt (Renee Gelderloos) Cuti; four great-grandsons, Elijah, Dean, Finn, and Noah; sisters, Wanda Bond and Shirley (Paul) Maki; and several nieces and nephews.
