Mr. Gerald E. Stafford's Obituary
Mr. Gerald E. Stafford, age 84, passed away Wednesday evening, October 17, 2012 in Zeeland. He was born November 10, 1927 to Everett and Louella (VanderSloot) Stafford in Muskegon, and lived most of his life here before moving to Zeeland 20 years ago. Mr. Stafford worked at Teledyne Continental Motors before retiring, and was a WWII U.S. Air Force veteran, receiving the World War Two Victory Medal. He was an avid Detroit Tiger fan, and played Triple A Baseball at Marsh Field, and for the Teledyne Baseball League. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Rick (Jennifer) Stafford of Rockford, Debra (John) Pattenger of N. Muskegon, John Stafford of Ferrysburg, David (Kitty) Stafford of Plainwell; the mother of his children, Carolyn Sue Thornberry-Miller of Fruitport; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., The Lee Chapel,6291 S. Harvey St., Muskegon, MI 49444, (231) 798-1100. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Mona View Cemetery.
