Mr. Gerald "Jerry" Walters' Obituary
Mr. Gerald L. “Jerry” Walters died Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in Savannah, Georgia. Jerry was born July 20, 1945 to George and Doris Walters in Muskegon. Jerry served his country in the United States Air Force. He married Angela Sottovia on June 17, 1966, in Muskegon and she survives him. Jerry was employed as a purchasing manager at Lift Tech International for 20 years. He loved to make people laugh and was always smiling. He loved being surrounded by his family and friends and had an undeniable zest for life. He is survived by his children, Jamie (John) Estabrook of Zeeland, MI, Jason Walters of Muskegon, MI and Kaye (Shon) Shumate of Bluffton, SC; grandchildren, Danielle (San Chauv) Baker, Heather Baker, Emilio Shumate, Roman Shumate, Karmen Williams and Vanity Shumate; a great-grandchild, Maddox; his brothers, Terry (Becky) Walters, Dennis (Kathy) Walters, Jeff (Patty) Walters, Chuck (Sue) Walters, Jim (Maria) Walters; and sister, Beverly Walters; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, May 13, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231 798-1100 with Pastor Gerald Hagans officiating and Full Military Rites under the auspices of the V.F.W. Muskegon County Council. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to The American Diabetes Association.
