Geraldine Langeland's Obituary
Geraldine Langeland age 93, passed away in Grand Rapids on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. She was born to George and Maggie (Bomers) Boll in Muskegon and lived there most her life. She spent 23 years sharing her time between Michigan and Florida, and most recently, Zeeland, Michigan. Geri was a member of Bethany Church where she was a Calvinettes counselor, volunteered with the King’s Daughters and had been the treasurer of the Ladies Fellowship. Geri and her husband, Roger, also volunteered for over 20 years with both C.R.W.R.C. and the American Red Cross. Prior to her retirement in 1980, she worked for Dr. Kent Graham as an office manager. As her granddaughter, Jaqui, put it; she was an outspoken and creative Gramma who was a mother of 6, grandmother and great-grandmother to at least thirty (I kept losing count), a wicked card player and a snappy dresser. She will be missed. On May 29, 1943, she married Roger Langeland and he preceded her in death on December 5, 2013. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Terry (LaVonne) Langeland, Richard (Karen) Langeland, Joan Driesens, Robert (Susan) Langeland and Dianne (Paul) Moker; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a 14-month old son, Roger Edward Langeland; and her son-in-law, Jerry Driesens. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, January 6, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100, with Rev. Chris DeGraaf officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, 1:00 p.m. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to Christian Reformed World Renew or the American Red Cross would be appreciated.
