Geri and I were school mates from the 3rd grade until the family moved out west. All we kids called her Geraldine. We teased her because she had 26 letters in her name. In our adult lives, we continued a friendship that stayed true where ever she happened to be. I am so sad to know that she has left this earth for she did so much to beautify it in her own way: her integrity, her openness and willingness to share herself and her talents with people. This scripture reminds me of her, "Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation. Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men." 1 Peter 12:15-18. In my sight, Geri took on this scripture with a passion. She was a lady in the purest form--a woman of substance. To Melissa, Rebecca and Christopher and all the grands, my heartfelt sorrow. Sierra Sue Gaw Davis
