Mrs. Geraldine Amelia Reefman's Obituary
Mrs. Geraldine Amelia Reefman, age 98, passed away Saturday evening, January 26, 2019. Gerry was born on January 19, 1921 in Soonan, Korea to George and Shirley (Schoonard) Halvorsen. She received degrees in both English and Business from Andrews University in 1943. That same year, she married William Maurice Reefman in Fremont, MI and he preceded her in death in 1986. In 1996, Gerry married Walter Brackenrich and he passed away in 2010. Gerry had been employed as an advertising secretary for Naph-Sol Refinery and later worked in the business office at Mercy Hospital. She was a longtime member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and had a lifelong dedication to her Church. Gerry loved the outdoors, and especially enjoyed camping with her family and church youth groups. Gerry is survived by her son, Robert (Wanda) Reefman of Sierra Madre, CA; step-daughter, Susie (Ernie) Overla-Medema; granddaughter, Danni Ann Reefman; brother, Ned Halvorsen of Avon Park, FL; and many nieces and nephews. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 2 PM Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3040 Evanston Ave. with Pastor Jason Sliger officiating.
