Geraldine Jane "Gerri" Wortelboer's Obituary
Mrs. Geraldine Jane “Gerri” Wortelboer, age 60, passed away October 20, 2004 at a local hospital. She was born October 20, 1944 in Muskegon to Anthony and Amelia (Schmitt) Krywicki and lived her entire life in the area. On November 14, 1964, she married Jack A. Wortelboer in Brunswick. Gerri operated an adult foster care from her home from 1978 to 1994 and was the owner and operator of Tasty Corner Ice Cream Shop in Twin Lake from 1992 to the present. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Shelby and was a charter member of the VFW #3734 Auxiliary. SURVIVORS include her husband, Jack; 4 children, Tony Wortelboer of Holton, Kim Lummen, Cindy (Ed) Guimond, Bobbi (Tracy) Wozny all of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren, Jacqui, Desiree, Niko, Tony, Caleb, Natalie, Brandon, Jack, Kyle, and Michael; 2 brothers, Richard (Jean) Krywicki and Robert (Kay) Krywicki both of Holton. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Jack Krywicki in 1966 while serving in Vietnam. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 9:30 AM Saturday, October 23, 2004 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Phillip J. Witkowski as celebrant. INTERMENT will take place at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Holton. VISITATION with Gerri’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565. The Rosary will be prayed at 2:00 PM Friday afternoon at the funeral home. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Hospice of Muskegon-Oceana.
