To the Wierenga's and all of Jerry's family, I am so deeply sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. I was a classmate of Jerry's at North Muskegon High School and remember him very fondly as a very friendly and happy person who always had a kind word for everyone. I hope that the warm memories and the love you still hold for him in your hearts will help you in this difficult time. The world is a little less bright with the loss of such a kind person who was taken too soon. I will light a candle for Jerry tomorrow and pray for your comfort in this difficult time. I am so sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Kelly Rodgers##imported-begin##Kelly Rodgers##imported-end##
I am so shocked and deeply saddened by the news of Jerry's passing. All day I have been running childhood memories through my mind and am astonished by how many fun adventurous times involved Jerry. When my brother and I moved to NM in 3rd grade Jerry was the most welcoming kid in the neighborhood. We just gravitated to him immediately. And we had so much stupid FUN!(somehow he convinced us we could jump off of our roof with an umbrella and we'd be okay. My memory is foggy but I swear he and my brother tried it) Even when we moved way down to the other end of Ruddiman he would ride his bike down to hang out with us...somehow we'd always end up at Bear Lake Channel; either with Jerry pretending he was going to jump off the bridge or all of us swinging out over the channel from the branches of the weeping willows. (how apropos that the last willow fell this year) I still hold a grudge for the time he accidentally split my lip open with a rock and he and my brother let me walk home alone! (Not really, it was hard to be mad at Jerry for too long.) The memories carry on through high school as well. It seemed we always had tons of classes together and we'd often get in trouble for talking too much.I am amazed at how many memories are flooding back of joking and laughing with Jerry in class. My regret is not having seen him for such a long time - it has been years. I just wanted his family to know that my childhood would have been vastly different without Jerry...a little less fun, a little less adventurous, a little less laughter. Thank Jerry, until I see you again.......##imported-begin##Shannon Day-Galindo##imported-end##
Dear Pat & Ted,
I just found out about your son. My heart breaks for you as I know the pain and suffering you are going through and what is ahead for you. If you need a shoulder to cry on (and I know you will), we can cry together. Please accept our condolences and and our love and prayers at this time.
