Gerald W. Brininstool's Obituary
Mr. Gerald W. Brininstool, age 87, passed away Friday afternoon August 19, 2005 at his home. He was born December 21, 1917 to William and Jennie (Toppenberg) Brininstool in Jackson, Michigan. He married Donna Dillon September 1, 1941. She passed in away in 1991 after nearly 50 years of marriage. Together they had three children, Jerry (Maria) Brininstool of North Muskegon, Deb Morin of Norton Shores, and Chris (Rick) Lydon of Wellington, Florida. Along with 11 grandchildren, Shawn (Chris) Hickman, Mark (Jennifer) Brininstool, Annette, Erika, Nichole, Noah, Carly (Troy) Wasserman, Chris (Molly) Morin, Bryn, Jillian, Caitlin Lydon. He has 7 great grandchildren, Kyle, Hannah, Julia, Kennedy, Nick, Lainey and Bobby. He is survived by 2 brothers, Forrest and Donald and 2 sisters, Betty (Joe) Brettes and Maxine Bones and special neighbors Kim & Carole Kolberg. He was preceded in death by 1 brother Ralph, 3 sisters Genevieve, Mary Lou and Helen, son-in-law Bob, and special friend Aggie. Mr. Brininstool was a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Engineering. He worked as an engineer for Teledyne Continental Motors for 43 years. His work allowed him to travel the world, living in the Netherlands, Taiwan, Jordan, Pakistan, Israel, Sweden and Switzerland. He was a passionate gardener and will be remembered with great joy for his beautiful garden at the corner of Belmont Dr. and Lake Harbor. He was a member of the Men’s Garden Club, Junior Achievement, and a long-time member of Calvary Church. He was a skilled carpenter.
