Germaine Jeanette Hofacker's Obituary
Germaine Jeanette Hofacker, age 87, went home for Christmas on December 14, 2014. She was born on May 4, 1927 in a small French village in the country of Algeria to Jean and Manuala Fernandez. Early in life Geri moved to The United States. She was extremely proud to be an American. In 1950 she married Bernard Hofacker. Together they were blessed with 2 daughters. Geri worked for Shaw Walker for most of her career before retiring in 1999. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, VFW Post 446 and the Woman’s Guild at St. Pauls. She enjoyed playing cards, volunteering and was a social butterfly. First and foremost to Geri was always her family. She will be deeply missed. She is SURVIVED by her 2 daughters, Viviane (Dana) Taylor and Charlayne (Mark) Putvin; 5 grandchildren, Derrick (Farrah) Taylor, David Geminder, Danielle (Chad) Reed, Steven Geminder and Victoria Putvin; 6 great grandchildren, Austin, Logan, Dyllon, Isabella, Mollie and Jaylen; sisters Lucianne Mira and Jeannine Fernandez. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard; parents, and sister, Claudette Fernandez. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on Thursday December 18th at 11am at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 1006 3rd Street. VISITATION will be held on Wednesday from 5-7 at The Lee Chapel 6291 S Harvey St 231-798-1100 and also one hour prior to the start of the service at St. Pauls Episcopal Church. Memorial Contributions can be made to VFW Post 446, Harbor Hospice or St. Pauls Episcopal Church.
