Geron L. Oliver's Obituary
Geron Oliver, 64, passed away in Muskegon, MI on March 27, 2025. Geron was born on February 5th, 1961, in Chicago, IL to Janel Oliver and the late Hosea Oliver, and soon after moved to Muskegon, MI with his parents. He attended Muskegon area public schools, graduating from Muskegon High School, Class of 1979. After graduation, Geron left Muskegon and embarked on a journey that lasted over 45 years, until his return to Muskegon in January of 2025. His time away from Muskegon began in California, where he spent nearly two years, and the remaining 40 plus years were spent in Texas. Geron attended The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), where he became a professional student where he worked as a software developer on many big projects while also helping many students with their computer studies. During his time in Texas, Geron founded 7even Records, and became a master of making music beats of many genres, especially Rap and R&B. He also assisted with work on a magazine, and was excellent at creating flyers and brochures, but his best skill of all was interacting with people. And of those relationships, many called him, son, brother, uncle, cousin, Boochie, G Mon, Ghyuantae, or just plain old “G”.
Geron leaves to cherish his memory his mother: Janel Oliver, daughters: Angela (Matt Burwell) Henderson, and Savannah Turner; grandchildren: Jeremiah Spoons and Ada Burwell; sisters: Geronica Burton, Gamina Oliver, Christine (Lee) Milton, and Sabrina (Ricky) Brown, brother: Ty'wan Oliver; and stepmother Annie Pearl Oliver; stepsister Melissa Graves; stepbrother Ray Dale Mickell; aunts: Luella Hughes, Bernice Mason, and Bessie Oliver, extended family: special friend Eloisa (Weezy) Hall, Tracy Bedford, and Caprina Clay all of Texas, and a host of cousins, friends other relatives that he loved dearly.
Geron was preceded in death father (only five months prior) by his Hosea Oliver, grandparents, brothers: D'well McDonald and Ricky McDonald, stepbrothers: Roy Ray Mickell and Nealis Mickell, and all relatives, friends and classmates that has gone on before him. Services for Geron have already taken place on April 19, 2025, at Kingdom Embassy Covenant Church, with classmate, Pastor Arthur Duren officiating.
