Gertrude Anna Priebe's Obituary
Mrs. Gertrude Anna Priebe, age 91, passed away Monday evening, November 30, 2009, at a local hospital. Gertrude was born August 12, 1918 to Harry and Sophia (Seng) Engleright in Detroit. Gertrude married Bernard Priebe in Muskegon on February 14, 1941, and he preceded her in death on September 26, 2005. During World War II, she had worked as a secretary at Teledyne Continental Motors. Gertrude was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Gertrude was a wonderful, caring and selfless mother, and a remarkable woman who enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, and spending time with her family. Gertrude is survived by her 3 children, Kim (Vanna) Priebe of Muskegon, Karen (Dan) Foote of Ludington, and Linda (Charles) Meyers of Muskegon: 6 grandchildren, Brad (Amy) Priebe, Casey (Jen) Foote, Kerry & Kelly Foote, Chris (Kelly) Meyers, Scott (Stacie) Meyers; 5 great grandchildren, Cameron Nicole Priebe, Kendall, CJ, Hunter & Cole Meyers; a sister, Eleanor DeYoung of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11AM Friday December 4, 2009, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (1006 Third St.) with Rev. Dr. Thomas C.H. Scott officiating. VISITATION will be Thursday evening from 4-7PM at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd 231-759-8565.
