Gertrude R. Dobb's Obituary
Mrs. Gertrude R. Dobb, age 91, passed away Friday, June 13, 2008 at the Poppen Hospice Residence. She was born July 9, 1916 in Thompsonville, MI to Ernest and Mary (Schriver) Willis, and resided most of her life in the area. Mrs. Dobb was a member of Fifth Reformed Church, where she was part of their Hannah Circle, and helped with the church newsletter. She also loved to knit, especially items for her family. Mrs. Dobb worked for Sears Roebuck, retiring in 1975. On June 13, 1936 she married Raymond H. Dobb, and he preceded her in death on March 29, 1991. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Joan (Roger) Hillstead of Fruitport, Joyce (Paul) Workman of Muskegon, Phillip (Holly) Dobb of Denver, PA; 11 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Leona Willis of Fremont and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dobb was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. SERVICES will be 3 PM Tuesday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Rev. Norman Swier officiating. VISITATION with the family will be this evening (Monday) from 6-8 PM, and 1 hour prior to the service, from 2-3 PM. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions to the Muskegon Rescue Mission or the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence will be appreciated.
