Gilberta Reyes' Obituary
Mrs. Gilberta Reyes, age 84, of Grand Haven passed away Monday, August 23, 2021. She was born February 4, 1937, in San Antonio, Texas to Francisco and Ruth (Ramirez) Gonzalez. On December 1, 1956, she married Jesus Reyes and he preceded her in death on June 18, 1991.
Gilberta was a former member of St. Patrick-St. Anthony Catholic Church and ran a day care for many years from her home. She was a talented cook and baker, and enjoyed sewing and painting, but most of all she loved her family and spending time with all of them. She will be greatly missed but will remain in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her four children: Roger (Joana) Reyes, Rose Marez, Reina (Rick) Brionez, Rachel (Jack) Jakubiec; two stepsons, Ernest (Criselda) Reyes, Robert Reyes; twenty grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren; She is also survived by her Gonzalez brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and special niece, Ana (Bob) Zuber. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Ruth; two sons, Ralph and Reinaldo; stepson, Ruben Reyes and several siblings.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 28, 2021, at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417. Interment will take place in Lakeshore Cemetery. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
