Mrs. Gilberte A. Crowell's Obituary
Mrs. Gilberte Antoinette Crowell “nee Farge” passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023, in Muskegon. She was born May 1, 1927, in France, the suburb of Paris, to Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel Farge. On July 4, 1945, she married John Crowell in Paris. John was a T/5 Army veteran of WWII. On March 12, 1946, she boarded a War Bride ship and sailed to the United States. She arrived in New York on March 22, 1946. The couple boarded a flight to Muskegon to make their home. Gilberte was preceded in death by her husband John, little grandson Domonic, a granddaughter Margie, brother Maurice and his wife Germaine, brother Georges and his wife Gilberte, and two nephews William and Didier. John and Gilberte were blessed with four children; David (Patricia) Crowell, Jack (Sandra) Crowell, Jim (Carla) Crowell, and Janice “Dolly” Crowell; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and her little companion dog “Bruiser”. The funeral service for Mrs. Crowell will be Friday, July 21, 2023, at 1:00 PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Crowell may be made to Harvest Ministries or Oak Crest Church of God.
