Gladys May Bowlin's Obituary
Ms. Gladys May Bowlin, age 94, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 3. 2013. She was born February 7, 1919 in Hickman, KY to William “Frank” and Zula (Cook) Gordon. Gladys was a member of Dalton Baptist Church and worked for Shaw-Walker for 17 years before retiring in 1983. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and collecting decorative shoes made of china. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Peggy J. McKee of Cape Girardeau, MO, Cecelia “Sue” Flowers of San Tan Valley, AZ, Beverly Fairchild of Ft. Wayne, IN, Kenneth E. (Carolyn) Bowlin of Muskegon; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Watson of Cape Girardeau, MO; daughter-in-law, Debra S. Bowlin of Montague; several nieces and nephews; and many treasured friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donald G. Bowlin; great-granddaughter, Leah; 3 sons-in-law, Albert L. McKee, Robert Flowers, Robert Fairchild; and 3 brothers. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Rev. Robert DeWitt officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service Thursday morning. MEMORIALS to the Dalton Baptist Church Memorial Fund will be appreciated.
