Gladys Eva Gardner's Obituary
Gladys Eva Gardner, age 81, of Spring Lake went to her eternal rest with our Lord on Thursday, November 1, 2012 It was a sunny, Autumn day in her favorite season of the year. She was born May 31, 1931 to Anthony C. and Eva M. (Bolek) Leonard in Muskegon. On June 13, 1953 she married Edward “Jack” Gardner at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Muskegon.
Gladys was a devoted housewife and mother that was loved by many for her natural ability to bring joy by her presence. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Cub Scout Den Mother, and loved to travel and Polka dance.
Gladys is lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, E. Jack; children: Edward (Colleen) Jr., Michael, Victoria, Nick and Chuck Gardner; grandchildren: April, Angela (Martin), Jarod, John, Jacob, Molly and Sam; and great-grandchild, Tony. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Donny and Tony Leonard.
A special “Thank You” to the wonderful and caring staff that assisted Gladys from the Sorrell House and Hospice. May God Bless you for your timeless energy and devotion to our loving wife and mother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 5, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Daniel DePew presiding. Her family will greet friends and family one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in honor of Gladys to Hospice of North Ottawa Community or Lakeshore Assisted Living Sorrell Residence.
