Gladys V. Groendal's Obituary
Gladys V. Groendal, age 90, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019. She was born November 23, 1928 in Stambaugh, MI to David and Elsie (Erickson) Carlson. Gladys worked for Amstore, Inc. for 19 years prior to retirement in 1988. She had been married to Harold Sumerix, Richard Vance, and William Groendal. Gladys enjoyed reading, going to casinos and flea markets, ice fishing, dancing, knitting, and playing her guitar. But most importantly, loved spending time with her family. She was a very kind, generous, loving, and supportive woman. SURVIVORS include 7 children: Eileen (Lyle) Stanton, Harold Sumerix, Roberta (Terry) Miller, Patricia Gosh, LaDonna Sheffer, Kimberly (David) Mahnke, and June Vishino; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands; son, Kevin Vance; and 7 siblings. A private family service will be held.
