Gladys Holm's Obituary
Gladys E. Holm, age 87, of Spring Lake passed away Saturday, December 17, 2005, at her home. She was born March 22, 1918 to Guy and Eva (Roberts) DuBuque in Lake Linden, Michigan. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Louis E. Holm in 1961. Mrs. Holm had been an area resident most of her life and was formerly the deli manager for DeWitt’s Food Market. She was formerly a hostess for Chan’s Restaurant in Spring Lake. Gladys was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a former member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. Her interests included playing cards, casinos, baking pasties and pork pies, camping and road trips. Survivors include her daughter Patricia (Gregory) Herrick of Spring Lake; three sons, Michael C. (Carol) Holm of Spring Lake, James W. (Jan) Holm of West Palm Beach, FL, Robert G. (Brenda) Holm of Grand Haven; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren with another expected soon; and special friend Vince Biligen of Ohio. She was preceded in death by her daughter Jackie Austin, grandson Gary Holm and sister Maxine DuBuque. A memorial service will be held at a later date with burial at Robinson Township Cemetery.
