Mrs. Gladys A. Kalchik's Obituary
Mrs. Gladys A. Kalchik, 85, passed away Wednesday morning, February 10, 2016 in Muskegon. She was born March 4, 1930 to Andrew and Cecilia (Lautner) Andres in Acme, MI, and moved to the Muskegon area in 1956. She was a member St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, and had volunteered for Love, INC. Gladys married George M. Kalchik on June 30, 1956, and he preceded her in death in 1990. Survivors include 5 children, Larry Kalchik of Newaygo, Noreen (Randy) Sly of Muskegon, Duane (Diane) Kalchik of Muskegon, Karen (John) Dantuma of Shelby, Ann (Scott) Lambrecht of Skokie, IL; 8 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, LaVern (Janet) Andres of Acme, MI, Raymond (Delynne) Andres of Kalamazoo; 1 sister, Joyce (Bill) Galligan of Freeland, MI. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday, February 15, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Norman Droski presiding. Visitation at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210 will be from 3:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday, and 1 hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Gill’s Pier (Northport) at a later date. You may visit the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
