Gladys Kitchka's Obituary
Mrs. Gladys Kitchka, age 93, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2010 in Muskegon. She was born May 7, 1917 in Ashton-under-Lyne, England to William and Nellie (Ashburn) Baldwin, and resided in the area since 1922. Mrs. Kitchka worked for the Amazon Knitting Company for several years prior to her marriage. She was a very active member of Hope Reformed Church, and also volunteered for the Muskegon Rescue Mission. Mrs. Kitchka also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She married Charles C. Kitchka on June 14, 1941 in Muskegon, and he preceded her in death in 1982. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Charles (Sheila) Kitchka of Muskegon, John (Wanda) Kitchka of Callahan, FL, Michael Kitchka and Robert Kitchka both of Muskegon, and David (Brenda) Kitchka of Palatine, IL; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Kitchka was also preceded in death by her brother, Sidney Baldwin. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11AM Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Hope Reformed Church (1878 Evanston Ave.) with Rev. Steven S. Hyma officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 and 6-8PM Wednesday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210. Burial will take place in Restlawn Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to Mercy VNS Hospice, Hope Reformed Church, or The Muskegon Rescue Mission will be appreciated.
