Gladys J. Loomis' Obituary
Mrs. Gladys Jean Loomis, age 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 12, 2023. She was born on September 7, 1931 in Muskegon to Gregory and Winifred (Bishop) Willbrandt. A lifelong resident of the area, Gladys married Ross Loomis on July 29, 1949 and they spent 58 wonderful years together before Ross passed away in 2007. Gladys took great pride in her house on Muskegon Lake, which she kept pristine and well-decorated as the seasons changed. She loved her family dearly and looked forward to holidays and family gatherings throughout the year, especially the Fourth of July and the Willbrandt Reunions. Gladys will be lovingly remembered by her children, Gregory (Mary) Loomis, Lynette (Daryl) Falkowski, and Scott Loomis; daughter-in-law, Karen Loomis; grandchildren, Kelly (William) Walker, Tony Loomis, Clinton Loomis, Lisa (Aaron) Potts, Ross (Rebecca) Loomis, Joshua (Jennifer) Falkowski, Jared (Nicole) Falkowski, Derek (Angela) Loomis, and Nicholas (Terrah) Loomis; 19 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Darlene Vanderwest; and many special nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, Ross, Gladys was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Loomis, parents, and siblings, G. William Willbrandt, Shirley Stewart, Elmer Willbrandt, and Bruce Willbrandt. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM, Friday, February 17 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00PM Thursday, February 16. Memorial contributions in Gladys’ memory may be directed to Harbor Hospice Foundation.
