Mrs. Gladys H. Wheeler's Obituary
Mrs. Gladys Helen Wheeler, age 52, passed away early Sunday morning, January 5, 2014 at her home surrounded by family. She was born June 28, 1961 in Muskegon and was a life resident. Gladys was a member of the Fruitport Eagles and worked various jobs throughout her lifetime. She loved to work in the yard especially with flowers, she loved to ride the Harley, go camping, boating and snowmobiling. Gladys loved many things but she loved her family most of all. She spent her life loving and caring for others. Gladys truly lived, laughed and loved life to the fullest and her absence will be greatly felt. On May 26, 1984 Gladys married Dudley W. Wheeler, and he survives her along with 2 sons, Dudley Paull (Alicia Stanley) Wheeler, and Alicia’s daughter Kaydence Stanley, Cody Wayne (Sarah Lager) Wheeler, all of Muskegon; her father(s) Chris Horton of Spring Lake and Bill (Linda) Ezell of North Muskegon; 3 brothers, Howard Horton, David Horton, Christian (Kari) Horton, all of Fruitport; 2 sisters, Cassandra (Brett) Alexander of Muskegon, Kimberley (Steve) Klassen of TX; special friend and caregiver, Sue Boles; many special nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends who all meant the world to her. Gladys was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Ann Horton. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 11, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, 49444, (231) 798-1100, with Rev. Robert N. Hodgman officiating. A time of gathering with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service.
