Gladys E. Vledder's Obituary
Mrs. Gladys E. Vledder, age 89, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at a local nursing home. She was born Sept. 6, 1917 to Peter and Agnes (Olsen) Schaallema, and was a life resident of Muskegon. She had owned her own catering business. She had also worked at the YWCA and the Occidental Hotel. Mrs. Vledder also loved flowers and her gardening. On Feb. 8, 1936 she married Joseph Vledder and he preceded her in death on May 10, 1994. SURVIVORS include 5 daughters, Marilyn (Gus) Unseld III of Grand Rapids, JoAnn (Clarence) Ritsema of Fremont, Marva Paul (late Charles) of Fruitport, Marge (Vern) Rake and Gerri Vledder both of Norton Shores; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, son-in-law Charles Paul, 3 sisters and 1 brother. Private services have already been held by the family. Family and friends are invited to join them for a memorial luncheon at Seminole Shores Living, 850 Seminole Rd. on Nov. 12th. at 1:30 pm. MEMORIAL GIFTS to Harbor Hospice are appreciated.
