Gladys Marie Tetzloff's Obituary
Mrs. Gladys Marie Tetzloff, age 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, June 12, 2006. Mrs. Tetzloff was born March 6, 1927 to Jay and Grace (Johnson) Carey in Muskegon and had resided here all of her life. On July 30, 1951, she married Robert M. Tetzloff and he preceded her in death on July 7, 1999. Mrs. Tetzloff was employed as the registration clerk at Muskegon Community College for many years. Prior to that she had been employed at Montgomery Ward and GTE. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and had copied the whole Bible over in Braille in 1971. She loved to camp on the White River and belonged to the River Rats. She also enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Gladys’ SURVIVORS include 2 sons, Max (Marilyn) Tetzloff and Mark (Dani) Tetzloff all of Muskegon; grandsons, Nate Wood, Rob McEachen, Andy & Troy Tetzloff, all of Muskegon; 3 step-grandchildren, Melissa, Marianne & Miccah Szucs; 2 step great-grandchildren, Zayn & Zion Szucs; 1 sister, Betty Peck; 4 sisters-in-law, Jean, Phyllis and Louise Carey and Lila Cain; brother-in-law, Don (Connie) Tetzloff; special nieces, Debra Peck and Vicky Rewalt and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert and 3 brothers, Robert, Albert and Charles Carey, and a brother-in- law, Bruce Peck. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11AM Thursday, June 15, 2006 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert J. Conradt officiating. VISITATION will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210. INTERMENT will be made in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Hospice of Michigan or the Alzheimer’s Association.
