Glenn Maycroft's Obituary
Mr. Glenn M. Maycroft, age 73, died Friday afternoon, May 13, 2005. He was born August 15, 1931 in Muskegon to Harrison and Grace (Ward) Maycroft. Mr. Maycroft lived in Grand Rapids for 30 years before moving back to Muskegon in 1995. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Maycroft worked for CSX Transportation for 46 years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Local Engineers. Mr. Maycroft loved music and gardening. On October 3, 1953, he married the former Betty J. Zwicker, and she was his wife for almost 52 years. SURVIVORS include his wife, Betty; 6 children, Laurie (Mike) Helsen of Norton Shores, John Maycroft of Kalamazoo, Sandy (Bob) Yates of Colorado Springs, CO, Pat (Steve) Blohm of Gaylord, MI, Barb (Dale) VanderWerf of Chandler, AZ, Mark (Beth) Maycroft of Jenison, MI; 14 grandchildren, Jamie and Troy Helsen, Matthew and Lisa Maycroft, Kurt and Kevin Yates, Todd, Scott, and Crystal Blohm, Brian, Brent, and Andrew VanderWerf, Danielle and Kylee Maycroft; 1 great-grandson, Chase Blohm; 2 brothers, Eugene (Alice) Maycroft of Muskegon, Ronald (Jeanne) Maycroft of Norton Shores; 1 sister, Dorothy Farran Frizzell of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald and Harry Maycroft; and a sister, Mary Kelly. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at The Walburn Chapel,Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.,1547 W. Sherman Blvd.,(231) 759-8565. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday. MEMORIALS to Hospice of Muskegon/Oceana will be appreciated.
