Glenna H. Chandler's Obituary
Glenna H. Chandler, age 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 6, 2024. She was born November 2, 1934 in Muskegon to Glenn and Gertrude (Razinski) Sturgis. She was a graduate of Muskegon High School and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area except for 28 years in Texas. On November 7, 1953, she married James F. Chandler in Muskegon. Glenna had worked as the secretary for the family business her husband co-owned for many years, Muskegon Awning. She was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church in Muskegon, loved to sing in the church choir, and attend the Ladies Bible Study groups both in Muskegon and Texas. She also enjoyed sewing, dancing with the Jubileers in Texas, and golfing with Jim almost every Saturday. SURVIVORS include her husband, James; son, Dennis (Naomi) Chandler; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Tom (Eleanor) Sturgis; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, James Chandler Jr.; daughter, Janet Chandler; twin brother, Glenn Sturgis; two sisters: Lunette Sturgis and Sandy Taylor; and a half-sister, Betty. SERVICES for Glenna will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, January 11, 2024 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery. MEMORIALS to the Harbor Hospice Foundation will be appreciated.
