Glen W. Lauher's Obituary
Mr. Glen Wyn Lauher, age 89, passed away Tuesday evening, January 10, 2012 in Muskegon. He was born June 25, 1922 to Frederick E. and Fannie Elizabeth (Handy) Lauher in McLean County, IL. Glen graduated from Millikin University in 1947 with a Bachelor Degree. He honorably served his country as a Chief Specialist in the Navy during WWII. He talked fondly of teaching Judo during this time. In 1987 Glen retired after a long and successful career with General Telephone Company. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, boating, rooting for the Cubs, and later in life poking us all with his cane. He will be greatly missed. Glen is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rhoda; children, Tom Lauher, Glenda (Joe Herzhaft) LeRoux, Gary Lauher, Gina (Paul) Burnip; grandchildren, Katherine Lauher, Scott Lauher, Carrie (Tom) O’Rear, Emily Lauher, Casey Lauher, Wyatt LeRoux, Jessica West, Lindsey West, Miranda Lauher, Amanda Lauher-Smith, Ryan West; great-granddaughter, Ashley O'Rear; sister, Mary Whalen. Glen was preceded in death by his six brothers, three sisters, and son-in-law Todd LeRoux. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 21, at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S.
