Gloria F. Botbyl's Obituary
Mrs. Gloria Botbyl, age 87, of Grand Haven passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at home. She was born November 30, 1926 in Grand Rapids to Carson and Lila (Fitzpatrick) Ryder.
She was a member of St. Patrick-St. Anthony Catholic Church and a member of the Senior Center. She enjoyed doing crafts, especially knitting and crocheting, but most of all she loved her family and spending time with them.
On June 9, 1945 she married Arthur Botbyl in Grand Haven and he preceded her in death in 1989. She is survived by five children: Thomas (Gail) Botbyl of Grand Haven, Terrance (Kitty) Botbyl of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Robert Botbyl of Phoenix, Arizona, Patricia (Harold) Ellis of Grand Haven, John (Cindy) Botbyl of Grand Haven; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by three brothers: Joseph (Pat) Ryder, James (Karen) Ryder, and Michael Ryder; three sisters: Bonnie (George) Schippers, Sally (Nelson) Pellegrom, and Mary (James) Szymas. She was preceded in death by two sons: Timothy Botbyl and Richard Botbyl; one brother, Thomas “Pat” Ryder; sister, Joyce (Leonard) Wittek.
A memorial mass will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 11, 2014 at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Father Norman P. Droski officiating. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Friday, October 10 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven.
