Gloria J. Juhnke's Obituary
Gloria Joy Juhnke, age 82, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019 at her home. She was born November 17, 1937 in Detroit, MI to Lyman and Irene (Tedesco) Charles and lived most of her life in the area. On October 5, 1957, she married Frederick L. Juhnke in Muskegon. Gloria received her bachelor’s degree in Business Management and English from Western Michigan University. She had worked as the administrator for Westshore Cardiology for over 30 years and retired in 2002. Gloria was a avid writer and found much joy in letter writing and journaling. Her organizational skills were second to none and she had impeccable filing cabinets with accurate tabs and labels. Gloria loved her gardens and flowers and especially enjoyed cooking her Italian spaghetti and meatballs, and her famous brussels sprouts for family. Survivors include her husband, Fred Juhnke; 2 sons, Eric (Debra) Juhnke, Brian (Lisa) Juhnke; 9 grandchildren, Jerimie (Amy) Ike, Jake (Jennifer) Ike, Joshua Ike, Jaime Ike, Jodi (Emmett) Terbeek, Jerrica (Brendan) Deuby, Sarah (Travis) Tardani, Kristen (Jason) Wilbur, Rachel Presley; 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, William Charles; and 2 sisters, Barbara Willis and Jacqueline (Jon) Trucks. Gloria was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jessica Juhnke Cereska; her parents, and 1 sister-in-law, Lynda Charles. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Service, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Rev. Tom Lutke officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Mona View Cemetery.
