Gloria Yvonne Stockwell's Obituary
Mrs. Gloria Yvonne Stockwell, age 84, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Poppen Residence. She was born March 19, 1923 in McBain, MI to Dennis and Laura (Rose) Cotter, Sr., and lived in the Muskegon area since 1948. She was retired after working for many years at Howmet Corp. Gloria was a wonderful mother to her children and a faithful friend to all who knew her. She was baptized into the Truth on July 3, 1970, and looked with expectancy to the Resurrection Hope. Her faith has set a wonderful example to all. She embraced death in the same way she embraced living. Her sparking eyes and ready smile will be missed by all. SURVIVORS include her children, Diane (Phillip) Tennant of North Muskegon, Doreen (Kevin Ratigan) Stockwell of Orlando, FL; step-children, Larry (Rosemary) Stockwell of Louisianna, and Frania (Denver) Valentine of Las Vegas; Grandchildren, Ronald (Deborah) Tennant, Christine (Steven) Lohman, Anise Gagnon; Step-grandchildren, Mark Stockwell, Angie (Kelvin) DeLacerda, Della (Art) Mayhew, Michael (Jane) Efaw, Erryn Efaw, Eric (Kamila) Efaw; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Eloise and Donna. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Dennis, Jr., Manley, Virgil, and R.B. Earl, sisters, Eudora, Marguerite, and Patsy. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210, with Brother Dan Oliver from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses as officiator. VISITATION with Gloria's family will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday and one hour prior to the service, 12-1 PM Wednesday. INTERMENT will take place at Mount View Cemetery in McBain.
