Goldie J Fisher's Obituary
Mrs. Goldie Fisher, age 97, passed away Monday morning, January 20, 2014 at her residence. She was born November 2, 1916 in Muskegon to Richard and Anna (Veenstra) Schoonbeck; and has been a life resident of the area. She had been a member of East Muskegon Christian Reformed Church for 60 years and was currently a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church. Goldie had volunteered at Hackley Hospital for many years and had played the piano at the Christian Convalescent Home for several years. On January 14, 1939 she married Cornelius “Casey” Fisher and he preceded her in death on August 23, 1987. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Len (Shirley) Fisher of Norton Shores, Maryann (William) Wolffis of Spring Lake, Joyce (William) Vermaas of Jenison and Dick (Bonnie) Fisher of Muskegon; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 1 sister-in-law, Donna Schoonbeck of Tucson, AZ. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100), with the Rev. John Rop officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. VISITATION with Goldie’s family will be 6-8:00 PM Friday. For a more lasting MEMORIAL you are asked to consider Muskegon Christian School or Western Michigan Christian High School.
