Goldie L. Davignon's Obituary
Mrs. Goldie L. Davignon, age 91, unexpectedly passed away at home, Wednesday afternoon, October 1, 2008. She was born in Norton Township on April 23, 1917, the fourth of six children to William and Mary (LeMieux) Seng and was a 1934 graduate of Muskegon Hts. H.S. She married Mr. Maurice E. Davignon in 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1984. Goldie was a life long member of St. Jean the Baptiste Catholic Church, where she was a former member of the Bridge Club, the Women’s Club and volunteered on the Luncheon Committee. Goldie enjoyed sewing, crafts and was also a former volunteer at Mercy Hospital. She is survived by six children; Mary Louise Nims of Woodland Park, CO, Theodore E. Davignon of Norton Shores, Donald D. (Marcet) Davignon of Mesa, AZ, Bruce E. Davignon of Traverse City, MI, Arinda A. (Michael) Howell of Spring Lake and Debra A. (Shane Schimpf) Davignon of Seattle, WA; two brothers, Lyman Seng of Norton Shores and Vernon Seng of Gladwin; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth in 1990. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Jean the Baptiste Catholic Church, Tuesday, 11:00 A.M., Fr. Thomas Page presiding.
