Mr. Gordon Earl Christensen's Obituary
Mr. Gordon Earl Christensen, age 52, passed away Monday evening, July 29, 2013. He was born September 28, 1960 in Naha, Okinawa, Japan to Gordon Allen and Marium (Hansen) Christensen. Gordon graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelors in Communications and had worked as the Operations Director for Blue Lake Public Radio since 1989. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, was an avid reader and sports fan, was an active member of the Muskegon Civic Theatre, and was a walking history book. As most of you know, a large part of Gordon’s life was his love of classical music, playing it on his piano and listening to it on the radio. On October 13, 1990 he married Teresa Lee VanderLaan in Whitehall and she survives him along with three children, Marty Christensen of N. Muskegon, Nathaniel and Annalisa Christensen both of Twin Lake; his father, Gordon A. Christensen of Tampa, FL; brother, Francis (Audrey) Christensen of Tampa, FL; two sisters, Mary (John) Christensen-Hauck of Tampa, FL, Vanessa Christensen of Orlando, FL; two nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marium Christensen. A CELEBRATION OF GORDON’S LIFE will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. James B. Rausch officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
