Gordon E. McNarland's Obituary
Mr. Gordon Eugene McNarland, age 84, passed away quietly in his sleep at home on Sunday, October 1, 2017. He was born December 8, 1932 in Muskegon to Frank and Vivian McNarland. On May 6, 1961, he married the former Ina Mae Ross in Comstock Park, MI and she preceded him in death on March 23, 1999. Gordon was retired from CWC Textron and served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He loved to read, bowl, and play horseshoes, and was a member of the VFW Post #3195, the Moose, and Polish Falcons. SURVIVORS include 4 children: Daniel, Penny, Mark (Renee Farber), and Leafa McNarland; 4 grandchildren: Brittany, Amanda, Haley, and Kaelyn; and 2 great-grandchildren: Iris and Isaac. He was also preceded in death by his siblings: Charles, Louie, Paul, Harold, Hazel, Dorothy, Laura, and Margaret. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-3 PM Thursday, October 5, 2017 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210, followed by a Celebration of Gordon’s Life held at 3:00 PM. Burial will take place in Norton Cemetery. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Harbor Hospice Foundation will be appreciated.
