Mr. Gordon Royce's Obituary
Mr. Gordon Royce, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in Muskegon at the age of 82. He was born in Muskegon Heights, MI in 1932 to George and Neta (Walcott) Royce. Gordon lived in the Fruitport area all of his life and was a Fruitport Township volunteer fireman for 30 years. He retired from Johnston Boiler Company after over 35 years. Gordon enjoyed camping, fishing and helping others. He was a veteran of the United States Army and had served during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by three sons, Ed (Lisa) Royce of Ferrysburg, Dan (Brenda) Royce of Fruitport, and David (Jen) Royce of Norton Shores; one daughter, Beveni (Larry) Phillips of Brunswick, OH; one stepdaughter, Avis Oliva of Altoona, FL; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Juanita Nulf; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Shelly Lynn Royce in 1965; his parents; two brothers, George in 1979 and Frank in 1978 and one sister, Pat Engle in 2005. SERVICES will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 12, 2015 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Pastor John Brown officiating. VISITATION will be from 6-8 PM Sunday and from 9-10 AM Monday. Burial will be in Fruitport Cemetery. MEMORIALS may be made to Harbor Hospice.
