Gordon Lee Knoll's Obituary
Gordon Lee Knoll, age 73, of Grand Haven passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 20, 2011, after an 18 year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born September 19, 1938 in Grand Haven to Claude “Bud” and Natalie (McMahon) Knoll.
Gordon was a life-long resident of Grand Haven and served his country in the U.S. Army. He owned Knoll’s Citgo Service Station for many years and retired from Consumers Power Company. Through the years, Gordy never lost his passion for cars, snowmobiles, and anything that would “go”.
Gordon is survived by his loving family; a daughter, Susan (Jack) Jerovsek of Spring Lake, a son, James (Sheryl) Knoll of Grand Haven; grandchildren: Lauren Jerovsek, Allison Knoll, and Sarah Knoll; his wife of 39 years, Sally Knoll; a sister, Claudia (Greg) Preston and a brother, Thom (Sandy) Knoll. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Robby Jerovsek.
The Funeral Service for Gordon will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. John Koedyker officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home or following the service at The Clover Bar. Memorial contributions in Gordy’s name are encouraged to the Parkinson’s Association of West Michigan or Seville-Lakeshore Assisted Living in Grand Haven.
