Mrs. Grace Anita Barr's Obituary
Mrs. Grace Anita Barr, age 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, September 21, 2012. Grace was born March 11, 1917 in Rhinelander, WI to Fred A. and Jennie (Murray) Todd, but lived most of her life in Muskegon. On October 23, 1937, she married Thaddeus J. Barr in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on October 25, 1992. Grace was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was employed at the Muskegon Country Club until her retirement. She loved playing cards, watching sports on TV, baking and cooking; but most of all she loved her home and family. Everyone who knew Grace just loved her. She always looked sharp, dressed to the “T”, and had a great sense of humor. Grace is survived by 2 sons; Thaddeus “Ted” Barr, of Whitehall and Anthony “Tony” (Kris) Barr of N. Muskegon; 2 daughters, Dolores (Ron) Baker of Naples, FL and Diane (Ray) Panozzo of Whitehall; 11 grandchildren, Chris, Carla, Matt, Kathy, Joe, Julie, T.J., Emily, Brett, Nick, and Kari; 18 great- grandchildren; 2 sisters, Gladys Baird and Gloria Brown of Muskegon; 3 sisters-in-law, Mary Spetoskey, Bernice Kling, Rosie Burns; and many nieces and nephews. Grace was also preceded in death by her brother, Fred Todd; her sister, Gail Daniels; and her parents. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, October 5, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (150 E. Summit, Muskegon Heights) with Rev. Father Anthony Britto presiding. Interment will be made in St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service (10-11 AM) at the church. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Harbor Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association
