Grace E. Vanderplow's Obituary
Mrs. Grace Vanderplow joined her Lord and family in heaven on April 22, 2016 at the age of 88. She was born January 14, 1928 to Henry & Bernice (Pomroy) VandenBosch and was a lifelong resident of Muskegon. When able, she praised the Lord every week at Our Redeemer Lutheran, Grace Lutheran, Turning Point and McGraft Congregational Churches. She is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Randy) Knapp and Carole (Jim) Bluhm; grandchildren, Kristen Bluhm and Daniel Bluhm; sisters, Donna Gomez and Betty (Jake) Miller; special niece, Caroline Gomez and many other faithful family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (1991); 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Since retiring from Doo Drop Inn and the House of Chan, Grace remained active having early coffee with friends at McDonalds, collecting dolls, garage saling, crocheting for friends, quilting and tending to her red geraniums. She took pride in her car (1989 Olds 88), her hair and her frosted cutout cookies. Since residing at the Hume Home, Grace enjoyed working with Kevin & Heather at Diversified Therapy. VISITATION will be from 4-7 PM Monday, April 25, 2016 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Grace Vanderplow Memorial Fund at the Hume Home.
