Grace Ruth Zandstra's Obituary
Mrs. Grace Ruth Zandstra, age 89, went to be with her Lord Friday morning, January 27, 2012. Grace was born January 29, 1922 in Muskegon to Gerrit and Grace (Dykema) Wierengo. On April 9, 1948 she married John H. Zandstra in Muskegon and he preceded Grace in death on December 5, 2010. Grace was a longtime member of Evanston Ave. Baptist Church where she served on the luncheon committee. Most importantly, she was a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family. Grace is survived by her 4 children, Wayne (Kittie) Zandstra of White Cloud, Sharon (Donald) DeBoer , Gary (Darlene) Zandstra and Donna Jean Zandstra, all of Muskegon; 3 grandchildren, Jon Wayne Zandstra, Cory Jay (Regan) Zandstra, and Marie Lipski; 3 great grandchildren; Bailey, Preston and Cody; a sister, Alberta Mellema of Norton Shores; a special niece, Ellen (Jack) Southland, and many more nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband John, Grace was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers, John, George, Henry, Willard and Edward Wierengo; and 3 sisters, Martha Herman, Jeanette DeWall, and Katherine Wolffis. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM Monday, January 30, 2012 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with Pastor Shane Prewitt and Rev. Allan J. Engstrom co-officiating. VISITATION will be Sunday afternoon from 2-5 PM. INTERMENT will be made in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
