Grayce V. Hopma's Obituary
Mrs. Grayce V. Hopma, 95, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 in Muskegon. She was born September 25, 1921 to Albert and Clara (Wolffis) Vriesman in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. Grayce had worked at Hollys Green Gardens for 30 years before retiring, she loved to knit, was a former member of Fifth Reformed Church, and currently a member at Community United Methodist Church. On January 31, 1941 she married Otto K. Hopma, Sr., and he preceded her in death on February 14, 2012. Survivors include 5 children, Jerry (Carol) Hopma of N. Muskegon, Byron (Johanna) Hopma of Libertyville, IL, Paula (Jim) Seastrom of N. Muskegon, Otto (Brenda) Hopma, Jr. of Fruitport, Renee DeVries of Bellaire, FL; 24 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Nell Vriesman and Haila Vriesman; several nieces and nephews. Grayce was also preceded in death by her brothers and sister, Rev. Dick Vriesman, Robert and Gord Vriesman, and Jean Potter. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 19, at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
