Greg E. Wamser's Obituary
Mr. Greg E. Wamser, age 60, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, October 12, 2011 in Muskegon. He was born on July 30, 1951 in Muskegon to Donald and Una (Michael) Wamser, and resided in the area all of his life. Greg was a Veteran of the US Marines having served in the Vietnam War. He retired from Brooks Correction Facility in 2008 after 21 years of service as a Corrections Officer, and currently worked as a Court Officer. Greg enjoyed golfing and bowling, and hunting, fishing whenever he had a chance. He married his best friend, the former Joan Iwaniec on October 7, 1969 in California and together just celebrated 42 loving years of marriage. He will also be missed by his two children, Lisa (Dan) Herzhaft and Steven Wamser both of Muskegon; 2 grandchildren, Taylor and Mason Herzhaft; sister, Wendy Wamser of Rockford, MI; 3 step-brothers, Randy Wamser, Kelly Wamser and Stuart Wamser; father-in-law, Joseph Iwaniec; in-laws, Michael Iwaniec; David Iwaniec, Joey (Kathy) Iwaniec, Nancy (Garry) Workman, Marie (Gary) Deater; also his aunt, cousins, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father; and mother-in-law, Marjorie Iwaniec. According to his wishes, there will be no services.
