Gregory A. Baker's Obituary
Gregory Allen Baker, age 64, passed away in Muskegon, MI, on Friday, December 12, 2025. Greg was born in Muskegon on March 10, 1961, to Jack Raymond and Shirley D. (Bergman) Baker. He graduated from Mona Shores High School and was a lifelong resident of west Michigan. In 1985 he married the former Gayle Perry, and the two of them spent 40 wonderful years building their family together. Greg worked a variety of jobs in his lifetime, including working as a mortician’s assistant, a delivery driver for Aunt Millie’s Bakery, and most recently security at the Mart Dock. He was also proud to spend a large portion of his career in fire service. He spent many years at Muskegon Township and eventually became the captain for Dalton Township. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time hunting at the Perry Farm, fishing, camping, and more recently birdwatching. He was a proud Eagle Scout and helped out with many troops over the years. Greg was incredibly social and was a patron of many local establishments over the years. He had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke, and overall was a sweet, kind human being. More than anything he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his two grandchildren.
Greg will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Gayle Baker; two children: Jacob Baker and Sarah (Derek) Hartline; two grandchildren, Willow and Benson Hartline; five siblings: Mark (Lori) Baker, Steve (Barb) Baker, Lynn (Jerry) Micketti, Paul (Lonnie) Kison, and David Kison; special family friend, Uncle Ned Carter; and many other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, John Kison; and sister, Shellie Shady.
