Mr. Gregory W. Billing's Obituary
Gregory W. Billing, 65, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 in Muskegon. Greg was born September 10, 1952 in Kalamazoo, MI to Keith and Joyce (Nelson) Billing. He grew up and lived his whole life in Grand Rapids, and spent just the last few months in N. Muskegon where he was able to pass peacefully surrounded by his love and soul mate, his dear friends and a phenomenal team of caregivers from Harbor Hospice. Greg was always so proud to share with everyone the love, joy and happiness he enjoyed with the love of his life, Lisa. Greg is survived by his longtime loving companion, Lisa McMichael; 2 children, Keith Billing and Miranda (Billing) Applebach; his brother, Mark (Bobbie) Billing; nephew, Carl Billing; nieces, Bethanie (Billing) Christopher and Emily Billing. Greg had a love and passion for life and people, and lived a very fun, active and accomplished life. He was able to do more in his shortened lifetime than others could do in several lifetimes. Greg had a love for motors and started racing motorcycles in his late teens, which was only the beginning of his racing days. He went on to race boats and cars until very recently. He was successful in owning his own business early in life, then utilizing his engineering skills doing what he loved in material handling in the latter part of his life. Greg loved to create and inspire. He had a big heart and cared about others and their successes also. He was an amazing, encouraging and inspirational man. Many of his friends, family and acquaintances admired his zest for life, his incredible knowledge and his quirky sense of humor. He was a person people wanted to get to know, and he touched many hearts and lives. He was loved by so many. Greg always had a smile on his face, with a great spirit and story for every person he met and knew. Never was there a dull moment with Greg Billing. He will be sorely missed in this world. Even though we know he has gone to be with our Lord, Greg will always be alive in our hearts and spirits. A service to celebrate and remember Greg’s life will be held Saturday, December 2, at 5:00 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., Muskegon, (231) 798-1100. There will be a time to visit 1 hour prior to the service. You may visit the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
