Gregory Lee Dorsett's Obituary
Mr. Gregory Lee Dorsett, age 73, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on October 5, 1948, to Franklyn and Jean (Sweet) Dorsett. Greg was a veteran of the United States Marines and served during the Vietnam War. He was employed by the Muskegon Chronicle as a photojournalist and photo editor prior to his retirement, where he was known for the integrity he brought to the profession, his support and love of his staff, and his Ozarkian humor. Greg enjoyed hunting, fishing, University of Michigan football, and reading, a love of which he instilled in his son. On August 10, 1985, Greg married the former Joni C. Redding in Muskegon, and she survives him along with their son, Scott (Marie) Dorsett; siblings-in-law, Steve (Suzanne Albrecht) Redding, Barbara Redding, Linda (John DiCola) Redding, Pat (Rob Bell) Redding, Kent (Colleen Foley) Redding; cousin, Debbie Bunch; numerous nieces and nephews; and his family through marriage, John, Sue, and Jack Dillivan. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-parents, Franklyn (Isabelle) Dorsett and Jean Sweet (Jim Fred) Best; parents-in-law, Bill and Rose Redding; and aunt and uncle, Marilyn and Chuck Gailliot. In accordance with Greg’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
