Gregory J. Earnest's Obituary
Gregory John Earnest, age 66, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 at his home. He was born on January 5, 1951 to Norman and Florence (Trombley) Earnest in Reed City, MI. Greg was an educator, who taught at Muskegon Catholic Central for over 20 years, where he also acted as the varsity basketball coach for both the boy’s and girl’s teams. He was a member at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and in the Knights of Columbus. He was a long time member at Lincoln Golf Course and enjoyed reading and watching the Detroit Tigers and Lions. On August 16, 1976, he married the former Kay Braunschneider who survives him. He is also survived by his children, Chad Earnest, Lindsey (Jacob) Secrest; grandchildren, Kyle, Emily, Blake; parents; brother, Gary (Marilyn) Earnest; aunt, Patricia Smock; siblings-in-law, Barbara (James) Mullally; William (Marcia) Braunschneider. A VISITATION with Greg’s family will take place on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd (231-759-8565) from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary service starting at 7:30 PM. A FUNERAL MASS will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (2929 McCracken St.) at 11:00 AM with Fr. Charles Hall Presiding.
