Gregory J. "Greg" Liskey's Obituary
Gregory J. “Greg” Liskey, age 67, passed away Monday, June 22, 2020 after courageously fighting cancer. He was born on June 19, 1953 to Gregory and Cecilia (Jaunese - Liskey) Meyer in Shelby, MI. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and was a member at First Lutheran Church. Greg was a man of many trades but in his later years, he enjoyed working in Sales at Tom Miller Honda/Pontiac/GMC until his retirement in 2008. On July 4, 2002 he married Mary Beth (Frederick) Wilks and together they cherished 17 years of marriage full of love and laughter. He was the Chief of the Vikings Linné Lodge 57 and a member at the White Lake Eagles. Greg was known to be a jack of many trades who always found a way to keep himself busy. He was his family’s MacGyver; constantly building, changing, and orchestrating things. Greg enjoyed entertaining people and he had a gift of being able to make friends just about anywhere he went. He was a funny and loving man with a quick-witted sense of humor. Greg always put others first and had an unconditional compassion for those in needs. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Liskey; 5 children, Melanie (Rob) Klomp, Nicholas (Brandy) Wilks, Elizabeth (Steven Webb) Lootens, Scott (Morgan) Liskey and Lisa (Jeff) Wright; 5 granddaughters, Taylor, Savannah, Reese, Amelia and Scarlett; very close nieces and nephews, Katie (Cody) Wiggins, their children Mason and Logan; Patrick (Carly VanderHenst) Daugherty, Kristina (Rashad Morgan) Daugherty; brother, Robert (Cheri) Liskey; sisters-in-law, Pauline (Jeff) Graves and Pauline Liskey; brother-in-law, Jon (Gail Maxwell) Frederick; and many friends and family. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Thomas Liskey and sister, Marie Daughtery . A Celebration of Gregory’s Life will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at 11am at the Montague-Whitehall Rotary Band Shell with Pastor Bill Uetricht officiating. The Montague-Whitehall Rotary Band Shell is located next to the boat launch ramp on the south side of Water street. We request, due to COVID-19 and for your safety and ours, please bring your own chair to sit in and practice social distancing with masks if you are unable to distance.
