Gwendolyn L. Wilkinson's Obituary
Mrs. Gwendolyn L. Wilkinson, age 83, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023 in Muskegon, MI. She was born on March 1, 1940 to Gerald and Genevieve (Lewis) Faught in Owasso, MI. Shortly after graduating from Perry High School in 1958, Gwen met the love of her life, Raymond Wilkinson. The two were married on July 16, 1960 at the Perry Congregational Church and have been blessed with nearly 63 years of marriage. Gwen and Ray moved to Muskegon in 1960 where Gwen began various jobs for the next 40 years. The last 27 years were spent at AAA Auto Club, where she retired as a claims clerk. In 2007 she became a greeter at Wal Mart, which she enjoyed doing for 12 years. In her early years, Gwen enjoyed various activities such as square dancing with Ray, bowling league, and participating in club with some of her many friends. Throughout her life, Gwen enjoyed gardening and going on road trips with family, which quite often ended at an ice cream shop. Gwen was very proud of all the accomplishments that her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren achieved. She especially enjoyed supporting all of their different sporting activities. What Gwen enjoyed most were family get-togethers, which could be birthdays, holidays, or any other reason for the family to be together. No matter the reason for the gathering, Gwen was always ready a game of euchre. Gwen’s deep love for her family will be remembered by her husband, Ray; children, Cynthia (Tony) Dykema, Steven (Julie) Wilkinson, Matthew (Amy) Wilkinson, and Joseph (Liana) Wilkinson; grandchildren, Scot (TJ), Kari (Dan), Keli (Ryan), Samantha (Tim), Dale, Kane (Ana), Sara (Jake), and Emma; great-grandchildren, Halo, Addison, Gracyn, Jackson, Raylee, and Blythe; sister, Sandra (Tom) Foess; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kali Dykema-McCaleb; brother, Richard Faught; and parents. A Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 30 from 6:00 – 8:00PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. A Graveside Service will take place 11:00AM Wednesday, May 31 at North Eagle Cemetery (12300 S. Grange Rd., Eagle, MI 48822).
