Mr. Harold Lynn Bird Sr.'s Obituary
Harold Lynn Bird Sr., age 87, passed away on August 4, 2016. Harold was born on December 20, 1928 to George and Eleanor Bird. In 1954 he married the former Margaret McNarland and together they raised 4 children and enjoyed 59 years of marriage until her passing in 2013. Harold served his county proudly in the US Army. He enjoyed woodworking and being with his family. Harold was a strong-willed, generous, honest man who wasn’t afraid to “say it like it is”. He will be deeply missed. SURVIVORS include his children, Vivian (Ira) Hite, Harold Jr. (Myra) and Vernon (Denise); son-in-law, Thomas (Lorri) Chester; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; daughter, Virginia Chester; brothers, Ted, Richard and Leonard; and sister, Harriet. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 3PM on Monday August 8, 2016 at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St 231-798-1100. VISITATION will be held on Sunday from 2-5 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The USO or American Cancer Society.
